Where Do Mosquitoes Lay Their Eggs?
In order to breed and lay eggs, mosquitoes need standing water. While they can utilize deep puddles, they will usually look for areas that have shallow stagnant water. When laying eggs, the female is capable of laying anywhere from 100 to 300 eggs at a time. The eggs will submerge into the standing water and can only be seen as a small raft in the water that is around ¼ inch long.

Can Mosquitoes Breed Without Water?
A water source is required for laying eggs and for the eggs to hatch. Some mosquito species will lay their eggs on the water and others will lay them near the standing water source.
